Certification and Training (C&T) Rule Changes
What’s happening?
WSDA has updating rules that will affect your pesticide license. Most licensees will need to do something to meet new requirements and maintain their license. Many will need to take a C&T-specific recertification course. Some will also need to pass an updated exam.
To find out what you need to do, please visit our website and view the requirements based on license and category type.

Why is WSDA making these changes?
EPA’s updated Federal rule requires WDSA to enhance protections for pesticide applicators and the public. WSDA anticipates that the changes to pesticide certification and training will improve applicator safety, ensure proper pesticide distribution, and protect human health and the environment.
When do you need to meet the new requirements?
Proposed new rules go into effect January 1, 2026. After that date, you will have until the end of your recertification cycle to meet requirements.
